Second-grade Tom Otterness sculptures

GSecond graders had a blast learning about the contemporary artist Tom Otterness. We talked about the differences between two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. We also practiced converting a shape into a draw on the form. We then colored our time Otterness sketches using value and oil pastels. Then we created our Otterness sculptures out of my magic! What fun and how playful!

Lesson Objectives:
I can learn about Tom Otterness' life and art
I can draw 3D shapes
I can use value to shade my sketch
I can create a Otterness style sculpture
